DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS FROM FERIA HÁBITAT VALENCIA 2025

Every fall, Feria Hábitat fills the city of Valencia with inspiration. Designers, makers, and brands from all over the world come together to show what’s next in interiors.
This year’s edition felt calm, and full of texture, less about trends that come and go, and more about what really lasts.
Here are a few things that caught my eye.
Design that lasts
Everyone was talking about materials: recycled, local, or simply built to last. It’s not a side topic anymore. Durability and sustainability have become part of good design, not a bonus feature.
A softer way of living
So many booths used natural textures: linen, rattan, wood, clay, wool. The look is warm and relaxed, but still elegant. Lighting followed the same idea: paper shades, diffused glow, and less glare. Spaces made to live in, not to impress.
Nature steps indoors
Outdoor furniture now looks just as refined as what you’d find in a living room. Soft shapes, cozy cushions, earthy tones. The idea is that your terrace or balcony can feel like an extra room, not a separate space.
Pieces that adapt
Modular furniture was everywhere. Sofas you can reconfigure, shelving that grows with you, tables that expand. The goal is to buy less, but better and keep pieces for longer.
Craft is back
Even in modern spaces, you could feel the human touch. Handmade ceramics, woven rugs, visible grain in wood. People want authenticity, something with texture, imperfection, and a story.
A sense of calm borrowed from boutique hotels
Many brands brought that quiet, neutral atmosphere you usually see in boutique hotels. Rounded edges, warm neutrals, soft lighting. It’s about creating that peace at home as well.
Colors that stay, even when trends move on
Natural shades are still strong: beige, sand, clay, olive, gray. Instead of loud colors, it’s all about tone and texture. They mix beautifully with black accents or warm wood.
What this means for us
Design feels more human again. It’s not about impressing others, it’s about feeling good in your own space. If you’re decorating right now, start with touchable textures, warm light, and something handmade. These trends don’t fade, they grow with you.
Walking through Feria Hábitat this year, I realized that the most memorable designs were the calmest ones. This year’s trends had less to do with novelty and more to do with how we want to live: calmer, warmer, and more mindful. It’s about choosing what feels right and letting simplicity do the rest.
